The 1947th edition had several variations in front covers and several addendum and errata sheets. All of these manuals have identical text except for the one with an errata sheet of corrections.
- Early wine colored front cover and errata sheet.
- Red colored front cover
- Green with red highlight cover
There were also two addendums. This manual was not edited through two scale additions. These addendums cover the new scales.
- DI Scale - The DI scale was added to the 4081-3 in 1953.
- SRT Scale - The ST scale was converted to a SRT scale in 1955.
Another addendum was issued to allow the use of this edition of the manual for older versions of the 4081-3.
