K&E 4080-3 ---- 1949-1954 Scale Set Early Edition

There are 2 variants within the 1949-1954 scale set. They vary in the use of solid or inlaid laminate on the edges. This scale set was the first to use printing on the top edge of the rule. Towards the end of production of this scale set, inlaid laminate was introduced which prevailed through 1967. The rule shown here has solid lamaniate on the edges.
