Molded bakelite body

Description from the eBay sale of Dec., 2001.

Nice early Stanley Slide rule in original box which has dovetailed joins.

MEASUREMENT : Box measures 18" long x 5.5" Rule is 17+3/8 inches long.

CONDITION: Box has some scuffing as shown in pic , most of the scratches are surface only and box would come up beautifully if restored.Inside the box is very clean, paper labels still attached to inside of lid although these have some foxing as shown in pics. The Rule itself is in very good condition, the bakelite ends are in as new condition, no chips or cracks, the paper covering with the numbers on is a little discoloraed with age, this however is fairly even all over, a mellow yellowed color, not blotchy, The brass is in extra good condition, no pitting or corrosion.The blue coloring on the bakelite end that shows up in our pic, is a reflection, NOT discoloration of the bakelite. I would say this rule has has little if any use. Serial number is 11740 56. This would make a prized addition to any collection .
